Wasda The Season To Come

Season 2010/11 is looking great for the drivers in the West, where it will get underway at Collie Speedway on the 16th October, being the first round of the “Wild West Series”. The series this year, will again visit the wine and surf region of Margaret River, go to the “toughest little short track in the South” in Manjimup, and after many years return to the most southern track, which used to be the Speedcars Easter trail, at Attwell Parks’ Albany Speedway.
What A Night For Wasda

Last Saturday night saw WASDA hold its Annual Trophy Presentation evening for the season 2009-10. Some 100 people attended the night to celebrate the achievements of many through the past race season. Great venue, the Bill Cole Function Centre, catering by Grinners, music courtesy of our in house DJ- Ross Heywood (Black Box DJ Services), MC for the night Karl Langdon, bar duties P & J, good company, I ask what more could you want. The night was a huge success, and it was noted that some of the dance floor moves far outshone the moves on the race track.
Geneve Grabs The Gold

Ricky Geneve took out the last night of Speedcar racing at the Perth Motorplex, from Neville Lance and Dayne Kingshott, in a contest over three heats, and in doing so won the evenings “Gold Cup”.
Ross Heywood Injured
Monday April 12, 2010. WASDA
Ross Heywood, WASDA President and midget driver was injured at Manjimup Speedway during the Feature race last night (Sat). Ross rolled the speedcar he was driving and was taken to Manjimup Hospital for observation. Ross was transferred to Bunbury Hopsital on Sunday for further examination and xrays, etc. The tests now reveal that Ross has broken two vertebrae in his back. He is being flown to Perth by RFDS tomorrow. At present he is not sure to which hospital.
Glazebrook Wins At Manjimup

If you didn’t get down to the south clay way of Manjimup last night, you missed “Midgets” at their best. Fast, clean, close racing.
Wasda Trophy Presentation Night

The West Australian Speedcar Drivers Association Annual Trophy Presentation night will be held on the 29th of May 2010 at the Bill Cole Function Centre High Road Riverton. Tickets are $60, which includes a buffet carvery and dessert with tea and coffee. Full bar facilities available. No B.Y.O.
Wasda General Meeting

WASDA wished to advise all car owners, drivers and club members that the next General meeting will be held on the 17th May, at the Speedway Commission Offices in East Vic Park.
Wild West Series Heads To Manjimup

The “Mighty Midgets” make their way this weekend, 10th April, to the southern clay way of Manjimup Speedway, for the last round of the “Wild West Series” for 2009-10.
Glazebrook Takes Margaret River

Scott Glazebrook, after several podium finishes this season, whether here in the West or on the East coast, finally got his first Feature win for the season last night at Margaret River Speedway. With a second in his first heat and a win in the second, the Feature win ended a great evening for Glazebrook.
